Americana’s 2nd Annual Code Red Chili Cook-Off a Big Success

Residents of Americana and their family, friends and guests recently enjoyed a day of music, games, fun for the kids and a spirited chili and craft beer competition.

This year’s Code Red Chili Festival, featuring 24 teams competing for chili bragging rights, was held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Americana. With live music and activities for the kids, there was something for the entire family.

Guests on lawn chairs and blankets on the grassy lawn of The Pointe enjoyed live music performed by The Gillis Solo, West Without and Michelle Willis. Frosty beverages, hot dogs and baked goods were available throughout the day.

A $10 wristband (benefitting a great cause) gave guests the opportunity to taste each entry in the chili competition. There was no cost for admission or parking for this festive event.

The Code Red Chili Cook-off is an annual fundraiser for the non-profit Lane Regional Medical Center Foundation. The event raised more than $25,000 for the Foundation. Proceeds will support Lane’s new Radiation Oncology Center and Cancer Treatment Center.

The event was presented by Americana, Level Homes and Lane Regional Medical Center. Congratulations to the winners of the Chili Cook-Off and raffle prizes:
